Knitting in Color with Pat.

Join Pat on Saturday, April 9th at 1:00 pm to get a comprehensive introduction to different Knitting-in-Color techniques. You will learn the basics of Intarsia and Entrelac, as well as Fair Isle. Morning Chores... Before School!

Along with the joys of having your own little black lamb comes the responsibility of taking care of it, and Sophia is doing a wonderful job at this! Sophia and Midnight have bonded quite well already. Did you know they don't call them the little black sheep of the family for nothing, they really are quite different from the others in their personalities, at least our little Midnight is. She is very independent, and she knows exactly what she wants when she wants it... While the others are all flocking together, Midnight is exploring....

Hand Crafted Drop Spindles.

These absolutely gorgeous hand-crafted drop spindles will be available on the day we have our first spinning class with Beth, the second weekend in May. They are hand-crafted by Beth's husband Bill. They come in two different sizes, the smaller ones are $55 and the larger ones are $65. Beth recommends the larger one for a beginner spinner, as it is easier to start spinning a thicker yarn which requires a larger spindle....

An Introduction To Spinning

This short video will give you a taste of what Beth will be teaching us in her drop spindle yarn spinning class. A great way to create your own luscious yarn!! I can't wait to spin up some very colorful yarn (of course, you know me and bright colors...), and knit up a wonderful small project in it!! When our sheep Liam, Fiona, Quinn and Midnight are a little older and ready to be shorn, we will be spinning some wonderful yarn from their fleece, a whole other wonderful project to look forward to!

Drop Spindle Yarn Spinning Class: Early May

Stay tuned for details on our upcoming Spinning Class with Beth, at the beginning of May. We will have a nice selection of fibers for you to choose from, create your own wonderful yarn! Here are just a couple of samples from Abstract Fibers that we currently have in stock.... Another very special treat we will have for the class.... beautiful, gorgeous hand-crafted wooden drop spindles by Beth's husband, pictures will be posted soon. You may remember his beautiful double-pointed needle holders that were such a huge hit? If you loved those, you won't be disappointed!
This should be a very fun event!!

We've Gone Green! Home-Grown, Organic!

By planting two wonderful organic vegetable and herb gardens, and it has been so much fun! One Anneke planted all on her own, ha! and the other with some professional help from Dylan Terry at Ready To Grow Gardens
